NGPフェローシップ報告： the 48th annual meeting of the Society for Neuroscience

I have attended the 48th annual meeting of the Society for Neuroscience (SfN), being held November 3-7, in San Diego. On November 4th, I did the oral presentation for fifteen minutes. My presentation at this conference was allocated in the animal models of neurodevelopmental disease section. The title of my study was “paternal aging affects the early developmental patterns of ultrasonic vocalization syllables induced by maternal separation in C57BL6/J mice”. After my talk, there were, fortunately, many questions from the audience. The feedback will help me to prepare a manuscript. There were 28,691 attendees from 73 countries in this meeting. The diverse research topics allowed me to explore new areas of neuroscience research and to gain new insights that will bring a benefit on the quality of my PhD research. From this meeting, I gained experience of oral presentation, and learned advanced research such as how to discover the specific genes that are involved in evolution of natural behavior. This meeting also provided me a platform to communicate with other researchers to make academic network. It was so informative and impressive that I discussed on the behavior study with other researchers during poster sessions and exchanged the overseas experience in the Global Neuroscience Social on November 6th. The science is not restricted within borders of countries. I do hope I am able to update my research for presentation in the next SfN.
