The NGP talks provided a great opportunity to engage with the groundbreaking research of our esteemed guest, Dr. Kei Igarashi, from the University of California, Irvine. Dr. Igarashi shared captivating insights into his career trajectory and the innovative research he has pursued—and continues to pursue—within his laboratory.
I am grateful for the chance to not only meet and exchange ideas with Dr. Igarashi regarding his area of expertise but also to present my own research project to him, as well as to the attending students and guests. This experience was invaluable, offering both intellectual enrichment and the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions.
Additionally, the event facilitated connections with expert professors and fellow students, offering the opportunity to expand my professional network both within Japan and internationally. I strongly encourage other students to seek out and participate in NGP Flash Talks, as they offer opportunities for learning, networking, and personal growth.

I had the chance to attend my third time NGP Exchange Meeting, where I learned about many interesting neuroscience studies, from molecular research to social cognitive neuroscience. The opening lecture was very inspiring and gave me new insights from the active and fruitful discussions. One of the key moments for me was the 2-minute flash talk session, where I had to explain my research clearly to people who were not very familiar with it. This challenge not only helped me improve how I share my work but also improved my listening skill by listening to other research and presentation styles.
The after-dinner networking session was a great chance to share ideas and meet other researchers. The relaxed and open room setting made it easy to have natural and friendly conversations. Overall, I am very thankful for the opportunity given by Neuro Global Program. It was a valuable and enjoyable experience that encouraged me to keep growing in my research.

Through 2-minute flash talks at the NGP Exchange Meeting, we presented our research. The research topics of the participating students were diverse. This was a good opportunity for me to practice simply explaining my research in English to people from different fields. Additionally, I could learn interesting points from each study, such as what they aimed to reveal and the significance of their research. At the reception afterward, we discussed each other’s research and laboratories. Hearing about the efforts of others in similar positions made me feel more motivated. The NGP staff were kind, and the event was held in a friendly atmosphere. I would like to participate again in the next opportunity to gather.
